The 2016 International CES Show is well underway and IoT is taking the show by storm. I can’t help but notice the significant shift from doubt -to curiosity -to action!
At CES 2 years ago attendees started talking about connected devices. As a platform vendor in stealth mode we met with several companies but they were mostly just curious and wanted to see “cool technology.” They had no idea how IoT fit into their business.
Last year there was a lot of attention caused by Nest and other home automation devices but it was very concentrated to a single vertical. Something different has happened this year. Companies from a variety of sectors no longer have IoT on the back-burner.
Now they are coming to CES with concrete ideas of how IoT can increase their revenue, lower costs, and improve customer satisfaction. So, myDevices and other IoT solution vendors have their schedules packed with prospective clients that have passed over the hype hump and enter 2016 with specific objectives and a genuine sense of urgency to get started on their IoT initiatives.
Cheers to the evolution of IoT!
