Low-Power Wide-Area Network Demo Among CES Highlights

Guest Blog Post: STMicroelectronics

Executives traveling in ST limos to and from the private STMicroelectronics demo suites at a hotel on the Las Vegas Strip are enjoying an upgrade in service while helping show off the benefits of the LoRa low-power, wide-area network.

Collaborating with myDevices and Senet, ST has outfitted the limos with its TESEO III automotive-navigation ICs integrated with STM32L0 MCUs and STM32Cube firmware operating the LoRaWAN™ network stack. This first-of-its-kind demo shows ST technology converting GPS data from the ST TESEO III to AES-128 encrypted packets for security before broadcasting the data through the Senet LoRaWAN to customized application dashboards created by myDevices. With this, ST is personalizing and streamlining its car service and improving event ROI. Other potential uses of the technology include agriculture monitoring, asset tracking, and smart buildings. myDevices Announces Technology Partners with TinyCircuits

myDevices is pleased to announce our technology partnership with TinyCircuits, providers of open source electronic modules for the Internet of Things. They specialize in designing and manufacturing very small (Tiny) electronics.

The TinyDuino is a miniature modular electronics platform (the size of a US Quarter) which consists electronic building blocks that snap together – allowing for a variety of sensors, actuators, and communication options (WiFi, GSM, Bluetooth, LoRa) to be used.

The TinyDuino platform is completely modular and works like tiny electronic LEGOs, so you can easily add complex functions, like GPS, WiFi, motor control or graphics displays to your projects just by plugging the expandable modules (called TinyShields).

All TinyCircuits products are made in their factory in Akron, Click here to access all TinyCircuit kits, processors, sensors, and boards.

Welcome to myDevices

Companies want to take advantage of IoT. In fact, they need to do it, but many are at a loss when it comes to getting started. They could build their own solution from the ground up, but the time and expense involved with such an undertaking is incredible, not to mention that is time and energy spent away from core operations.

It is for this reason that we decided to create our Internet of Things Platform as a Service, which, I am thrilled to announce, launches today. << Read press release
